Head Nurse

 

Our client is looking for a Head Nurse to join their oncology and soft tissue referral hospital based in Guildford, Surrey.

Leading a team of 30 nurses and auxiliaries in the provision of veterinary care, providing leadership and guidance to the Deputy Head Nurse in the line management of the auxiliary team and acting as a role model and mentor for junior staff and other clinicians, you will be an influential member of this fast-paced organisation.

The ideal candidate will ensure professional nursing standards are maintained in accordance with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) guidelines and a culture of high-level client and patient care is maintained. As a member of the operations management team, you will demonstrate clinical and leadership credibility, influence and direct nursing services and work with the Hospital Director to develop new services. In addition, you will act as a health and safety lead for the hospital ensuring adherence to legislation and good practice. You will be care driven, have excellent communication skills, exceptionally organised, thorough and be able to operate in a 24/7 team environment.

In addition, the successful applicant will have a veterinary nurse accredited qualification, be RCVS registered, with experience of working in a referral setting within a leadership position that involves managing a large team. In addition, they will have a wide knowledge base of all areas of veterinary nursing and experience of advanced, high-level nursing care.
