A large animal practice in Aylesbury are recruiting an experienced farm animal veterinary surgeon. This role would suit a farm vet who would like a change to have a different farming experience to consolidate their knowledge. Situated in the beautiful location between London and Oxford this is perfect for both the rural and city lifestyle.

Key Details:

  • Type: Farm Animal         
  • Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am – 6pm
  • Weekends: Saturday 9am – 1pm
  • OOH:  Yes
  • Sole charge: Some
  • Branch work: Possible when needed at other surgeries.
  • Team: Multiple Vet & RVN  
  • Other: Practice provides 24 Hour cover

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be an experienced forward-thinking veterinary surgeon
  • You must be 1 years post graduate minimum
  • You will have good farming surgical experience and comfortable working autonomously
  • You will enjoy mentoring other members of the team
  • Happy to do sole charge work when required
  • Happy to cover and help at other branches when required  
  • You will work well as part of a team and have great communication skills to develop working relationships with clients and fellow team members
  • You must be motivated and have a genuine passion for animal welfare.

Facilities:  - 24 hour emergency services

·         Dedicated solely Farm Veterinary Surgeons

·         Herd Health Planning / Flock Health Planning

·         Fertility visits and consultancy

·         Ultrasound scanning for cattle

·         Mastitis consultancy

·         External and in-house laboratory investigation facilities

·         Nutritional advice

·         Metabolic profiles; mineral and trace element testing

·         Working protocols and sampling

·         Castration

·         Disbudding / dehorning

·         Local Veterinary Inspectors for DEFRA - TB testing; Brucellosis testing

·         Abortion sampling, multiple pick up licences etc.


  • Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 DOE     
  • Holiday allowance: 25 days plus 8 Bank Holidays   - rises with time served
