A busy small animal practice in Leeds are currently recruiting a permanent veterinary Nurse to join their growing team on a full time basis.  The practice is specifically looking for applicants that are enthusiastic, assertive with an excellent grasp of clinical work. This is a very busy 24/7 practice which sees a high demand of case loads so previous clinical experience is essential.

About You:

  • You will be confident in all areas of general nursing with excellent technical skills.
  • Ideally you will have clinical experience in a high-volume veterinary practice – the practice is very busy, and all the staff are cross trained so you may be responsible for the patient being admitted right through to them being discharged.
  • You need to be confident in replacing catheters, monitoring and administering aesthetic – supervision will be there, but you will not be micromanaged.
  • There will be a wide range of duties including answering the phone and liaising and education the clients on preventative welfare
  • You must be enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated with a passion for animal welfare.
  • You will be motivated to grow and develop your skill set and knowledge and confident in trying new techniques
  • Excellent communication and customer relation skills are essentials to develop working relationships with clients and fellow staff members.
  • Daily duties will be varied on a rotational basis between theatre, prep, clinics and consultations and ward work.
  • You will work to a high standard of care
  • You will be happy to be flexible as shifts are between 7,30am – 8.30pm so the practice always needs to be covered.

  • Salary: £21,000 – £24,000 DOE

Must haves:

  • RCVS registered and qualified
