About the job

A multi branch practice on Essex are recruiting a senior experienced veterinary surgeon with the future option to move into a clinical director role.  This role requires the candidate to have 5-7 years’ experience who are capable of doing all routine general practice work / OOH and emergency and critical care work. Ideally the candidate will have worked in a hospital.  It is vital the vet has excellent communication skills and deliver a high clinical and customer service. It is a full-time role with a 4-day working week Monday – Friday with a full day off each week. Weekend are a rota of 1: 6 full weekends which is consults 9am – 4pm Saturday and Sunday 11am -1pm and then a 1:6 Saturday mornings only. On call is one night per week either 7pm – 11pm Monday – Thursday or 7pm – 8pm Friday. This role will suit a veterinary surgeon who wishes to take the next steps in moving forward into a clinical director role.

About You:

  • You must have a strong work ethic and provide an excellent high standard of clinical service
  • You will be an experienced forward-thinking veterinary surgeon
  • You must be 7-9 years post graduate minimum
  • You will have good extensive surgical experience and comfortable working autonomously
  • You will enjoy mentoring other members of the team
  • You will have previous Hospital / OOH emergency care experience.
  • Happy and confident to do sole charge work when required
  • Happy to cover and help at other branches when required  
  • You will work well as part of a team and have great communication skills to develop working relationships with clients and fellow team members
  • You must be motivated and have a genuine passion for animal welfare.
  • You will be looking onwards taking the next step in your career into a management leadership role.

  • Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 DOE
