About the job

Are you a friendly and professional Vet with interest in orthopaedic who want to join a fun and happy team? We are waiting for you!

About Us
The premise is housed in a converted chapel and is characterful with some original features. The consulting rooms are large and airy with climate control and the practice is well located within the town center. A second branch was opened in Staveley in 2014 due to continued business growth and has since undergone extensive renovations to provide a clean and modern working environment. Both practices have all the facilities and equipment you would expect in general practice including digital xrays, tonometer, digital otoscope, endoscopy and ultrasound.

We are RCVS PSS accredited GP Status and an RVN training center affiliated with Nottingham Trent University. We have 2 certificate holders in Exotics and Dermatology. We are a member of the Linnaeus Graduate Program and well placed to offer the support candidates require.

Our team is a close-knit group who regularly socialise together allowing for a working environment that is both professional and fun. We eat a lot of a cake and make a big fuss of birthdays and special occasions because we genuinely care about the milestones in the lives of all of our team members.

About the Role
We are a busy small animal practice who see a wide variety of cases. You will have full clinical freedom and work cases up to a high standard. We have an experienced vet team (86 years between them) who will support and guide for newly qualified vets but this role also allows for autonomy for the experienced practitioner. We have 12 fantastic RVN’s who are competent, happy, friendly and supportive.

We can accommodate all levels of experience but would welcome anyone who has an orthopaedic bias. We have a varied caseload of medical and surgical patients. Excellent diagnostic facilities in house and colleagues with certificates in Dermatology Exotics and working towards ECC. We provide continuity of care for our patients by providing our own out of hours cover each vet covering one in six-night and one in six weekends on call.

About You
A successful candidate will ideally have at least one year of experience with good surgical skills, be a good team player and have an excellent command of English.

Our caseload will allow anyone to complete or start a certificate suitable for the business needs but would welcome any vet who has orthopaedic experience.

Benefits & Work Life
The hours are approx 40 hrs per week ranging in shift patterns. 9 to 5pm; 9 to 1pm; 11 to 7pm and 9 to 7pm. Candidates can expect to receive a salary commensurate with experience, within the range of £30,000 to £50,000 per year, all VDS and RCVS fees are also covered. There is an allowance 6 weeks of holiday per year, plus bank holidays and a CPD allowance of 3 days per year (pro-rata).
